Kahalu’u Beach Condo

Feb 2020 – “Awesome property”
We have stayed in many different condos in Kona. This is definitely one of the nicest. Standouts are the central AC which is often not needed with the cross breeze, but a rarity in most condos. Everything was new and clean and very tasteful. View was great, lanai felt more private than you would expect. Well Appointed. It is a ways out from downtown so don’t expect to walk to restaurants, but that made it a lot quieter. Rooms were quiet at night, often not the case for condos right on Alli. You will not be disappointed.

Feb 2020 – “Beautiful Views”
Beautiful views and steps away from Kahalu’u Beach Park. The snorkeling there is impressive! This unit had a perfect location, where from the lanai you see the ocean. Leilani was responsive and thoughtful. — Amanda

Feb 2020 – “Paradise at Kahaluu Bay!”
Loved this vacation rental! We spent 3 nights here and didn’t want to leave. All the little extras were icing on the cake. The location was great–in betweeen Kona and Keauhou. Exceeded our expectations!

Jan 2020 – “Great location”
Great location and comfortable stay. Easy access to great snorkeling (just a quick walk to the beach right across the street) and to great restaurants, bars, and shops. Highly recommend. — Justin

Jan 2020 – “Great condo”
Condo was nicely remodeled. A/C was great. Good snorkling beach right across the road. Pool and hot tub were great. The only negative for me was the distance from town. There was nothing within walking distance except the beach. Had to get in the car for meals and shopping.

Dec 2019 – “Perfect for a Christmas getaway”
This condo was perfect for a Christmas getaway with my 2 grown children. The neighborhood is quiet, the beach is very accessible and the general location is close to the airport and the night life on Ali’i Drive but not in the thick of it. A minor issue with a noisy fan in the small bedroom meant we had to run the air-conditioning at night – otherwise the condo is clean and well maintained.

Nov 2019 – “A perfect 10!”
Leilani and her team keep this AirBnB so clean! My parents loved the thoughtful touches of fresh fruit the clean pool and hot tub, their quiet mornings on the lanai waking up with the birds and ocean views and the friendly grounds keepers who kept it all in great working order. The location was close to quick amenities and easy to get out of town. A perfect 10!

June 2019 – “Great location on Kona side”
Great location across from great snorkeling spot. Centrally located to explore Kona side of island. Short drive to restaurants, shops, and farms.

May 2019 – “Great stay in Kahaluu”
The condo is exactly like the photos, super clean and very well appointed. Leilani, the manager is on it, easy to communicate with and so helpful. She has the condo stocked with many extras, guide books, beach towels and enough paper products, soap etc. so you don’t need to shop before you arrive. There are two beach chairs, small cooler and a few snorkel, fin sets (not that great) and a boggie board. I would recommended renting an umbrella since there is not enough shade on most of the beaches, there is a rental shack right down the street. Also reef shoes a must at these beaches. Pool was beautiful and the grounds so well kept, bar b que new and big. So nice just to be able to walk across the street to the best beach in South Kona. The only couple of negatives, are, if school is in session there is a bus stop on the corner and the kids can get pretty noisy early in the morning, didn’t bother us, we get us early. But we heard some other guest complaining about this. Also the walls are pretty thin and you can hear the the upstairs unit a lot, walking etc. I was ok but my husband didn’t like it. This being said,”it’s condo living”! All in all it was a super stay and I would stay there again in a heartbeat! Also don’t miss Keei Cafe, The Coffe Shack and Holuakoa Gardens and Cafe!

Waimea Farm Hale

March 2020 – “Highly Recommend”
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Leilani’s airbnb. It is spacious, has full amenities, lovely gardens and pastures surround it and such has fragrant flowers at every turn. We enjoyed cooling off after beach/snorkeling trips each day- so Waimea was perfect for that. Our group was myself, husband, and two teenage girls. The girls ran for exercise down the county lane, sat up in the tree house and talked and had their own space. What’s super cool is we were staring at Mauna Kea from the house all the time- so awesome. Highly recommend and hope to return soon! — Maria

March 2020 – “Views of Mauna Kea”
The house was spacious, comfortable and in a great location, set back from the road with private gardens and views of Mauna Kea. There was plenty of wildlife to entertain us with roosters and geese on the grounds which made the stay extra fun. Leilani was a great host, communicative and quick to respond to my questions. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay away from the larger towns on the island. — Philip

Feb 2020 – “We loved our stay here”
We loved our stay here. Everything posted was what it was and more! Great space to stay with friend, quiet, and more than enough room. It was great location and a great time! Thanks Leilani! — Jason

Jan 2020 – “Perfectly Situated”
If you are like me and wanted to go to Hawaii but not be in 90 degree weather this is the house for you! Closely located for sight seeing of the northern coast and 1 hour for Kona, Waimea is perfectly situated to be surrounded by cool breezes and a great view of the observatories when the clouds allowed. Not to mention some of the freshest produce on the island! The property is a dream especially if you have little ones…or in our case both sets of elderly parents. The fruit trees were a joy to explore. Coffee, apples, buddah’s hand, calamansi, bananas, pineapple, oranges and tangerines to name a few. We spotted a chameleon in the peach tree and several pheasants. The geese on the property were a bit aggressive and tended to follow guests and cars around along the fence line! Also there is the most adorable tree house!!! Adult sized! The best part was the open floor plan which allowed those cooking and those sitting in the living room to interact. We spent many evenings surrounded by good food and great company. — Mary

Jan 2020 – “What a beautiful home!”
What a beautiful home! Plenty of room to enjoy with friends and a great kitchen layout. It was chilly while we were there and the fireplace kept us cozy. Nice grounds around the house. Shopping is close by and the beaches around 20 min drive. You definitely need a car. Its a great place to be after hot days at the beach. — Judy

Jan 2020 – “We had a wonderful stay!”
We had a wonderful stay!! I have a one and a half year old son that came along on this trip. This was our first Airbnb experience and first big family vacation with him so needless to say, I was a little nervous about how the whole thing would shake out. Luckily, Leilani had us covered!! I only moved a couple of vases and some glass coasters to “childproof” (keep our little one from knocking them over/breaking them), otherwise the whole place was very kid friendly. Leilani had resources we could call if we needed to rent any child furniture (pack n play, crib etc). We had everything we needed, our son just slept with us in the master queen bed, but it was really nice to have the resources if needed. My husband and son visited the geese next door at least twice a day – he absolutely loved watching them, the roosters, chickens and other lively bird activity on the property. They also liked running around the yard/rest of the property, collecting flowers and fruit, and mom liked giving him a place to run around outside to burn some energy! It’s a quick five minute drive to the grocery store which was perfect. The beaches in the area were maybe 15 minutes away and if we went to the Kailua/Kona area – it was perfect nap time in the car for our little guy. We had a total of six adults along with one child and we were all very comfortable in the space – plenty of room for everyone to spread out but also a comfortable kitchen/living space to spend time together. I don’t know if it’s because we were always exhausted every day from staying so busy, but the furniture was all so so comfortable and perfect for lounging. The fireplace was nice to have as well for some of those nights that rain fell and it was a bit colder. Leilani also has the cabinet stacked full of puzzles/games so we were set for the times that we did stay in. Overall, we had a great time, I would stay here again and of course recommend for others looking!! — Brittnay

Nov 2019 – “Lovely farm house”
Lovely farm house. Leilani provides everything we need for our stay. Amazing view of cowboy country and near Hapuna white sand beach. — Vinh

Oct 2019 – ” Country living and beautiful beaches a short drive away”
This Beautiful plantation style home with views of Mauna Kea, lush garden, and even a tree house is close to’ Waimea’s great restaurants and farmers market and you can easily reach the beautiful beaches of the Kohala Coast (20 min drive) Old Hawaii at his best! Ideal for families but couples too! The property manager is attentive, responsive and always available to answer questions! — Valentina

Aug 2019 – “This home is the place to stay in Waimea!”
This home is the place to stay in Waimea! Close to town, yet still offering an upcountry experience of 1 acre full of farm animals, flower gardens, fruit trees and a stunning view of Mauna Kea from the back deck. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay including linens and toiletries. All appliances work great and house stayed cool all day. We took nightly walks along Mana Rd. behind the house. Our family will definitely be back. It’s become our new favorite Air BnB to stay at. Leilani is quick to communicate with questions we had and was a great host. Thank you, Leilani! Please let the owners know we really appreciated the gardens and noticed the love and care that they had put into planting the specific flowers, magnolia trees, surinam cherry, guava, limes and lemons, coffee and others (we are garden lovers). We made a fabulous apple crisp with the apples from the orchard. We appreciate the family home they provided us for this week. — Amy
