Beautiful beach and house right in the beach
“This is our second time staying at this house And we Love it. This wouldn’t be the house for people who like air conditioning and marble Bathrooms. We love it because it is rustic but very comfortable and right On the beach. They got another small refrigerator which was very helpful. The beds and linens are comfortable. The property manger is very helpful and accommodating.”

The house is like camp for architects — it is low key and focused on the outdoors, yet the beautiful architectural details make it feel luxe. “This house and beach are pure, unadulterated paradise. Get ready to commune hard with nature – from lizards to sea turtles – and shower outdoors. Your spirit will thank you for leaving fussiness and modernity at the door. Birds go crazy at sunrise, in the best way. Don’t worry about the lack of AC. The air and the ocean are perfect. I never wanted to leave Treadwell which sank all my sightseeing plans; oh well. My family (three generations, age range 9-80) loved it, I can’t say enough good things. Ultimate throwback beach house
“We had an amazing stay at Treadwell House and our family really took advantage of exploring the beach & kayaking just a few steps beyond the yard. It felt like the ultimate throwback beach house, with its open and breezy layout. Loved the common room with its super comfy day beds. The house was stocked with everything we needed for a family, and Leilani was always at the ready to answer questions. A great find and very quiet/private!”

Most amazing location
“The most amazing location you can find on the Big Island – we felt like Islanders for the week. Beautiful beach with very easy access. Good snorkeling area with friendly currents. House is open air lanai style. Our first night, the wind was a bit still so worried about being too warm. The rest of the week was perfect with amazing breeze which made the beach vibe complete. My entire family has voted to stay here again!”

“Gorgeous setting very close to a beautiful sandy beach and ocean swimming. Rustic accommodations with a communal family room/kitchen. The bedrooms and bathroom were accessed from outside. Leilani was very responsive and helpful. Great to BBQ and nice set up outside.”
